Bee is 5’2” weighing in at 120 lbs. He has a Boxing experience background and then he started training in MMA for about 2 years with a coach in the South Side of Chicago. He then moved to Rogers Park right next to the Freddie’s Modern Kung Fu school.
In early September 2015 he stopped into the school to meet me. In the very first introduction class, I worked with him in Safe Sparring off camera and went over the basics of how Safe Sparring is conducted at FMK. After that day, I didn’t see him again but then he stopped by today Oct 2nd 2015 for a surprise visit. Grasping the opportunity, I immediately arranged for some light contact sparring with him and a couple of my students.
I like working with him because he has control, he doesn’t fight with anger and rage but he fights with skill and technique. He is not afraid to take a hit and continue. When you attack him, he knows how to get away and he knows how to block.
Not often do I ever meet anybody off the streets that is the right fit for Safe Sparring at FMK. I hope that Bee will continue to drop in for some classes, as I am excited to create more promotional videos demonstrating some advanced contact sparring techniques of this school.
