Women In Politics: Congresswoman Clair Loose: 1952 Interview

In this episode of the Longines Chronoscope, Claire Booth Loose, former Congresswoman from Connecticut, discusses Eisenhower’s presidential campaign and the role of women in politics. Loose believes that Eisenhower has garnered a large amount of support from the Republican Party, and even some support from Democrats. Concerned with the war in Korea, Loose predicts that Eisenhower’s visit to Korea and understanding of war will prevent a third world war. As a woman, Loose predicts that more women than men will vote in the upcoming election and will vote for Eisenhower because they are not only intelligent, but also intuitive and trust his character.
