02-06 Honda CR-V Starter Motor Removal

Here's the story:
The starter on the CRV is known for its ability to slowly die over time. The car tries to trick you into thinking its a dead battery. But its not. Over the course of 2 months this particular vehicle would struggle more and more with starting.
The funny thing is that the starter motor tested fine. The voltage was good, the load was good, but it still had the torque of a dandelion. Even AFTER I pulled the starter out of the CRV and had it tested at O'Reilly Autoparts, it tested 'good' in every category (Except that it was visibly spinning much much slower than the new part I had purchased.)
Overall the repair wasn't that bad. You DO have to remove the intake manifold. Unless you have Hobbit sized fingers and tools, in which case you can just reach up from below the engine once you take off the plastic shroud under the vehicle. Each plug and hose can only go in one spot. So just remember where each connection is and you'll be just fine. As always, if you have any questions just leave them below!
