Today our host Cristina Escobar interviews former National Assembly leader, statesman and diplomat Ricardo Alarcon about his anti-Batista activity leading up to the Cuban Revolution with the University Student Federation (FEU), the Revolutionary Student Directorate and the 26th of July Movement. Then the conversation shifts to Alarcon’s diplomatic activity in the aftermath of the Revolution, some differences within a respectful relationship with the Soviet Union, and the first attempt at the normalization of US-Cuba relations under ex President Jimmy Carter.
