Why can this men just explain the owner the protocol instead of acting that way ,the camera guy and the old man knew each other ,he should be arrested for stealing that was private property ! ,he should thank the owner cuz he dindt call the police ,and he also left the Mexican flag on the floor is that protocol manners ? I dont think thats the best way of making a point !

Stupid redneck, he doesn't even know the protocol of how handling the American flag himself. Look how he grabs it and takes it as if it was a piece of toilet paper. He just wanted to be on TV.

(a) Shelby Sheehan (sp?) is completely wrong. You can fly the American flag any way you want. Freedom of expression, you know?

I must say, I enjoyed the quiet dignity of the Mexican guy, picking up his torn down flag, and not attacking the vandal who'd destroyed and stolen his property.

What are these people with so much 'respect' for the flag and with no clue what that flag represents? I have great admiration for the principles of America, and it's a pity to see that they're so rarely lived up to.

Tambourine, Ireland.

OOOOYAH! Jim, way to go. There was no hate. If we were to go to another country we would have to learn the customs & language to function there. Foreign countries have less leniency about breaking their laws than we do. I do think the "fight me for this flag" was a little close to the line maybe, but considering he has already fought for that flag only to see it disrespected, I can totally understand & support his anger. If you go to live in another city, state or country, you have to abide by thier rules/laws. You aren't going to be able to tell the local justice, oh I'm sorry I didn't know your policy. It is your duty to find that out & follow it. Yeah, aleste81 "US U.S.A people are damn proud of all things American, sounds like you need to get on the boat or take one back to where you came from as is sounds like you don't want to be part of us, so what are you doing here? ShakingmyheadQQ, I see some of your point, but even you did it legally. THAT is the difference.

I support Jim's decision BUT...Did the Mexican Owner know the proper etiquette of flying the flag? I don't think they even knew they were doing anything wrong. we can't assume the obvious.
