Dramatic footage has emerged of the moment an elephant charged and attacked a safari truck, narrowly avoiding injuring a passenger, in Hwange, Zimbabwe.

The video, captured on a GoPro camera by one of the visitors last month, shows the African Bull Elephant pushing the truck around with ease to a screaming reaction - before retreating.

The filmer later wrote online that the creature pierced the tyre before "breaking through the metal like butter, narrowly missing a passengers leg."

He added: "No-one was harmed but the Safari Truck sure took a beating!
