Rubén Morodo Ruiz (1971) is not one of the pioneers of reggae in Spain, but he was the first for many young people that now make or listen to reggae. His second album “Cosas que contarte (2004) has the honour of being the cornerstone of the popularisation of reggae amongst the youth of our country.

Morodo started to become known in the 90’s for his work on numerous hip hop jams, demonstrating his vocal abilities and pitting himself against other MC´s from the area La Alamenda in Madrid, with Posse OZM. His first release was Ozmlstyle 2001 Fündamental, together with Souchi and Dahani.

"Cosas que contarte" (2004) is much more than just an album, it represents the maturing of the musical style and personal beliefs of Morodo, after which would come the massive Rebel Actión (2010) and the recent Reggae Ambassador (2015) which he is coming to Rototom to promote. Both see a bigger emphasis on social issues, with Morodo further refining his style.
