SPEEDY GONZÁLEZ - TABASCO ROAD
SPEEDY GONZÁLEZ: TABASCO ROAD
Academy Award nominee for best short subject. Directed by Robert McKimson, 1957.
The fastest mouse in all of Mexico sped onto screens with his first appearance in 1953's Cat-Tails for Two by Robert McKimson. Two years later, Friz Freleng and Hawley Pratt did some work under the hood and revved up the newly designed - and faster than ever - speedster mouse who emerged - faster than ever - in the Academy Award winning Speedy Gonzales. Constantly at odds with "gringo pussy-gato" Sylvester, Speedy remains a hero to his countrymen mice - especially his lethargic cousin Slowpoke Rodriguez.
