Dataran Merdeka is for the people and does not belong to DBKL, says Bersih.
In response to questions that the venue was considered a heritage site and that the proposed gathering there might damage it, Bersih co-chairperson Ambiga Sreenevasan said that it was a public space and belonged to the people.
