World's First Child Double Hand Transplant Performed

8-year-old Zion Harvey became the first child to undergo a double hand transplant. The surgery was performed at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

A number of years ago, Zion Harvey, who is now 8 years old, had to undergo amputations of his feet and hands after a serious infection.
In recent weeks, the boy became the first child to get a double hand transplant.
The groundbreaking 10-hour surgery was performed at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
