Anything for the economy stupid! Fearing an outsourcing of jobs, the British govt is going all out to woo Aston Martin – even to the extent of offering it a military base in Wales for the production of the DBX crossover. The offer came from none other than British Prime Minister David Cameron himself.
The base offered is located at St. Athans, which is currently a Royal Air Force base. A hangar in the base is lying vacant since a military academy it was supposed to house was cancelled five years back.
Although Aston Martin has not yet announced the location for the production of the DBX, it is said to be considering one place in Alabama, USA. Apart from that some other venues in the UK are also on their radar.
Once launched, the Aston Martin DBX will compete in the market with the likes of Jaguar, Maserati and Lamborghini.
