Suruç: Turkish officials identify attacker

This photograph, or “selfie”, is said to show some of the victims of Monday’s suicide bomb attack in the Turkish town of Suruç, moments before the tragedy.

The device exploded outside a cultural centre in the town, where a group of students had gathered ahead of a humanitarian trip to help with the reconstruction of the Kurdish city of Kobane, just over the nearby border with Syria.

Officials say they have now identified the 20-year-old Turkish suicide bomber who detonated his device during the gathering, killing at least 31 others and injuring 100 more.

Mass funeral held for victims

A mass funeral has been held for the majority of those who died.

Mourners wept as the coffins were lined up in the courtyard of a mosque.

They have been taken on to their home towns for burial.
