Actually, Hong Ying's filmography listing for "Popeye" most likely refers to "Popeye and Son," which was animated at Wang/Cuckoo's Nest in Taiwan. Hong Ying's early filmography seems to be work subcontracted from Wang.

These were colrized when Ted Turner bought them back in the 1980's.

I'm afraid not, the studio was set up in 1986 in Taiwan (and according to their website they did the recolors in 1989 - must be the final batch) which means that couldn't have done Looney Tunes or Betty Boop. Sorry, I'm in the same boat too but for something else. There was a website listing Korean studios in the 70s but I can't find it anymore.

Why thank you for the information on who redrew it I've been doing years of research on these redrawns. Did they also redraw Betty Boop and Looney Tunes (and some others)?
