Atomun – A “Smartvest” for Visually Impaired People

Welcome to Atomun - TeleSUR's program on science and technology in Latin America, focusing on the human side of science and technology at the service of progress. Today our host Danny Perez tells us about an amazing new “smartvest” invented in Palestine that can guide visually impaired people by using sensors to find obstacles, as well as vibrations and voice commands to find a better path. Moving on to the “not really fiction” segment, we look at the 2009 movie “Moon,” which presages current agreements between NASA and private industry regarding the exploitation of natural resources found on the Earth’s only natural satellite. Then in the “How do I do it?” segment, we find out how to remove bothersome pop-up ads from our browsers, add more characters to our quotable tweets, and, in Spain, get around the “gag law” with innovative hologram protests. teleSUR
