Cowboys Save Hundreds of Cattle Stranded by Texas Flooding
  • 9 years ago
Cowboys and volunteers saved over 500 cattle stranded by flooding in Liberty, Texas, on Sunday, May 31. The herd was stuck on a 40 acre “island,” created by rising waters of the Trinity River, according to local reports. The cowboys used air boats to help guide the cattle off the island to higher ground, so the cows could finish their 8-mile journey down Highway 90 to Dayton, Texas. This dramatic footage, filmed by local volunteer cowboy Jake Johnson, shows the old fashioned cattle drive as the cows struggled in high flood waters Credit: Facebook/Jake Johnson
