I made a mistake in saying that E J Strickland was on drums here in thise video. It is Montez Coleman on drums in this video. Montez currently plays for the Roy Hargrove Quintet. My absolute all-time favorite jazz musician. I love his music AND his personality! This is a great video which is a bonus video track on his Playground (2004 MAXJAZZ) recording. Martin Bejerano is the pianist, Tassili Bond is on bass, and EJ Strickland is on drums. Russell's newest release is Live At Jazz Standard Volume One (2006 MAXJAZZ) and I highly recommend it! It features Johnathan Blake on drums, in addition to Martin and Tassili. Russell has an awesome quartet. They are well worth seeing live -- if you have the opportunity to do so, GO AND SEE THEM!
