Thailand cracks down on human traffickers amid worsening migrant crisis

Over the past few weeks, FRANCE 24 has been reporting on the thousands of desperate Bangladeshi and Rohingya migrants who have landed ashore in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. Thousands more are believed to be adrift in the Indian Ocean in boats abandoned by their captains. The gruesome news does not stop there: hundreds of bodies have also been found in human trafficking camps on the Malaysia-Thailand border.
Thailand’s military junta has come under international pressure to tackle the human trafficking within its borders and has now begun a crackdown, but this is proving a difficult task in a region where criminal networks and illegal activities are deeply rooted. FRANCE 24's Cyril Payen and Dug Moore report from the jungle lands of southern Thailand.
