Historian Asserts He Found An Incredibly Rare Shakespeare Portrait

Historian Mark Griffiths says he’s discovered an image of William Shakespeare that was composed during the author’s lifetime, making the find a historical first.

Throughout his lifetime, William Shakespeare wrote many words, but he doesn’t appear to have posed for many portraits.

As it stands, there are no verified images of him that were created during his living years, though many likenesses have been suggested as such. 

Historian and botanist Mark Griffiths believes he’s finally discovered one that’s undeniably authentic.

He found it in a 400-year-old book on botany that was published while Shakespeare was alive. 

On its title page is an etching featuring 4 individuals.

Griffiths has since identified all of them, and says that one is without question a
