Los Angeles Ups Minimum Wage

In a victory for the labor movement, the Los Angeles City Council voted Tuesday night to increase the local minimum wage from the current to US$9 to US$15 an hour by 2020. An increase in the minimum wage had been a key demand of the labor movement and focus of recent protests by fast food workers. San Francisco and Seattle had already approved similar measures. teleSUR
