Bangkok motorcycle youths stage fatal drive-by shooting

A man is dead and several others were injured after youths on motorcycles fired handguns into a crowd of revellers in the Thai capital on Sunday.

The incident occurred in Soi Inthamara 29, in Bangkok around 6 p.m.
A crowd was celebrating the Songkran festival when four young men on two motorcycles appeared and fired at least 10 shots into the crowd.

One 27-year-old man was struck in the head and several others were also hit, among them a seven-year-old boy. The man died and seven others were treated for injuries.

Authorities are cracking down on gangs of young motorcyclists engaging in increasingly anti-social behavior.
