A bus carrying ten Singaporean tourists crashed and overturned on Malaysia's North-South Highway on July 31. All ten passengers survived and at least eight of them suffered minor injuries.
It was reported that the bus had departed from Beach Road in Singapore at 10pm on Tuesday and was en route to Penang, Malaysia. It was scheduled to arrive at 10 am on the previous day. The accident took place at about 2am on North-South Highway, near Pagoh. Local media reports that the driver suddenly lost control of the bus, perhaps due to drowsiness, causing it to skid for about 15 meters and crash into a road divider before it overturned. According to Bernama, the two drivers were thrown out of the bus after the crash and they then climbed back into the bus to help rescue the passengers. It was reported that the driver is not expected to face any charges.
