Three Iranian Revolutionary Guards killed in blast

Three members of Iran's Revolutionary Guards were killed in a bomb blast in southeastern Iran on Wednesday (December 18).

According to Press TV, the attack occurred at 6:30 local time (03:00 GMT) near the city of Saravan in Sistan Baluchistan province, southeastern Iran. The three men were part of an engineering division working on construction projects in the border area.

According to the BBC, the men were en route to a workshop when a bomb exploded besides their vehicle. All three of them were killed by the blast.

A Sunni militant group, Jaish al-Adi claimed responsibility for the attack.

The attack came after 14 Iranian border guards lost their lives and three others captured outside the city of Saravan which borders Pakistan.
