Cheating death: Plane crashes into cemetary in Canada

A small plane taking off from an airstrip in Nova Scotia, Canada, lost power once aloft and crashed into a cemetery on Sunday. But not directly into the cemetery. The Piper Cub was gliding for what promised to be quite a bumpy landing among the headstones when it was intercepted by a tall tree. The pilot, Dave Arenburg, narrowly survived the crash. Had the tree struck his fuselage a meter to the right, it could have driven the engine into the cabin where he was sitting.

However, just because he survived the crash didn't mean that Arenburg was out of the woods. He was literally trapped 9 meters above the headstones in the tree. Lucky for him, witnesses had already called emergency services, who rushed to the scene and retrieved the slightly injured pilot from the wreckage before the 760-pound plane finally crashed all the way to Earth. Way before in fact. The wing and fuselage are still stuck in the tree, and the local police have informed Arenburg that he is responsible for moving his vehicle. After all, a cemetery is not an appropriate place to park a plane.
