Car bomb attacks in Libya's eastern city of Benghazi on Monday March 17 left at least nine people dead and another 18 wounded.
According to Reuters, the first car bomb exploded at the front gate of a military academy as soldiers were leaving following a graduation ceremony. One or two more bombs exploded around the same time. The attack killed eight people and injured at least 18 others.
Another car bomb later exploded in front of the state oil firm Brega Petroleum Marketing Co, a company that sells fuel products inside Libya, Reuters reported.
No group claimed responsibility for the bombings.
According to a statement, the government called the academy attack a terrorist act and declared three days of mourning.
Benghazi is the largest city in eastern Libya, where some groups want more autonomy and a greater share of the region's oil wealth, the BBC reported.
