Defying death: Iowa State trooper in near-miss with flying truck

Iowa State trooper Jess Hernandez is one lucky man.
As this dashcam footage shows, Hernandez was pulled up at the side of Interstate 80 last week while dealing with an accident.
He approaches another cruiser and is talking to the occupants when a noise is heard before the airborne truck flies between the two vehicles and into the embankment, narrowly missing the all-to-calm Hernandez.
The flying truck was apparently hit from behind by a semi that failed to slow down.
This is just a glaring example of how close we came to losing Trooper Hernandez, Deputy Hammes, along with Reserve Deputy Pearson," Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek told KGAN News in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
