Frozen: Grandmother Maria de Jesus Arroyo wakes up in bodybag in mortuary, freezes to death

The family of Maria de Jesus Arroyo are suing after the 80-year-old grandmother apparently froze to death inside a mortuary freezer.
Arroyo was a patient at White Memorial Medical Center in the Boyle Heights section of Los Angeles in July 2010. She suffered a heart attack and doctors declared her dead.
But Arroyo hadn't died. Physical evidence suggests she awoke and struggled to escape. Arroyo had turned herself over onto her stomach inside the body bag; morgue workers found her face down. Arroyo also suffered severe bruising to her face.
At first, Arroyo's family sued because they thought the hospital had mishandled her body. But a pathologist later concluded the injuries most likely occurred while the grandmother was still alive inside the bodybag.
