Mercredi, une énorme explosion a fait tomber deux bâtiments de 15 appartements de cinq étages, près de la 116th rue et Park Avenue dans le spanish Harlem à 09h30.

Selon la CNN, au moins quatre personnes ont été tuées par l'explosion et 64 personnes ont été blessées.

Neuf personnes seraient toujours portées disparues mercredi soir.

Une fuite de gaz a été signalé à Con Edison à 09h13, environ 15 minutes avant l'explosion, c'était "la seule indication de danger".

La compagnie a envoyé un depanneur deux minutes plus tard, mais il est arrivé après l'explosion.

Les bâtiments étaient autrefois près du cœur de la communauté portoricaine de New York, qui abritait un magasin de piano et une église évangélique en plus des appartements. Tous ont été détruits.
