Islamic State video: British journalist John Cantlie speaks out against UK on behalf of IS

The latest video released by the terrorist group is a departure from its gruesome videos showing the beheadings of James Foley, Steven Sotloff and David Haines.

The message of this video is again directed at the American and British public. But it features kidnapped British journalist John Cantlie, who says that in future videos he will explain the motivations of the Islamic State and why hostages from European nations other than the UK have been released.

Cantlie has worked for British newspapers and magazines including The Sunday Times, The Sun and The Sunday Telegraph. He went to Syria in 2012 where he was captured by the terrorist group now known as the Islamic State.
