Nineteen-year-old Sawyer Sweeten, child star of the comedy show "Everybody Loves Raymond," committed suicide early Thursday morning.

Sweeten, along with his twin Sullivan, first appeared on the show when he was just 16 months old. The comedy series developed a loyal fan base and ran from 1996 to 2005, winning multiple awards.

Sweeten had no reports of prior drug, alcohol or relationship problems and grew up before the eyes of millions of fans.

Early Thursday, Sweeten was reportedly visiting family in Texas when he was reported to have killed himself with a gunshot to his head. He was weeks away from his 20th birthday.

Sweeten's sister confirmed the death in a post on Facebook. She asked for privacy for their family while asking everyone to reach out to their loved ones.
