The drama by Milena Marković poetically speaks of the enthusiasm and calvary of the young in the brutal capitalist world. While we are watching The Dragonslayers it becomes increasingly clearer how the hunger for life, acknowledgement and knowledge, coupled with the humiliation of poverty lead a young man to reach for a pistol. The Dragonslayers help us draw a parallel between the Sarajevo that was 101 years and us here today and ask ourselves if the world based on the rich getting ultimately richer and the poor getting poorer isn’t grooming a new Gavrilo Princip for itself. Will the new generations, once they see that their community isn’t giving them a realistic chance to grow and develop, decide to blow this world into pieces?
