US congressman John Conyers (D-Michigan) has introduced new legislation, entitled the End to Racial Profiling Act, aimed at combating police brutality and killings across country. The police killing of African-American Baltimore resident Freddie Gray this past Sunday has sparked a series of protests in that city. Meanwhile, the family of Michael Brown, the unarmed African-American teenager gunned down by a policeman last August, is suing the city of Ferguson, Missouri in a wrongful death civil suit. Brown's killing sparked the nationwide wave of anti-racist protests in the United States. teleSUR
