Rosetta Probe Captures Images Of Comet Dust Jet

For the first time, the Rosetta probe has captured images of the beginning of a massive jet of dust expelled by its target comet known as 67P.

The Rosetta orbiter recently captured images of a massive dust jet being ejected from the comet it is following known as 67P. 

It is the first time the beginning of the activity has been witnessed since it is an unpredictable event.

Two images taken nearly 47 miles away from the comet were captured on March 12th. 

The first showed the nearly 2.5 mile-wide comet as it was, and the second, timed two minutes and ten seconds later, shows the active jet on the dark underside.
