Nokia confirms €15 billion Alcatel-Lucent merger

Nokia has agreed a merger deal with Alcatel-Lucent that values the Franco-American company at €15.6 billion. The French government had backed the deal, which creates a European giant in the telecoms infrastructure business. Also today: China posts its lowest growth in six years.
