An Ohio couple’s happiest day turned into nightmare after a tragic crash that sadly may have been preventable.

Andy Bloomfield was 27 and ready to begin a new life with his bride Ruth Driskill.

The two were supposed to be enjoying one of the best days of their lives but after the ceremony and reception that included the couple got into a pickup truck driven by a couple close friends.

Unfortunately, police say it appears that none of the truck's occupants were wearing seatbelts and all had consumed alcohol before driver Timothy Tebbe lost control of the vehicle and hit a utility pole.

The truck flipped several times before coming to rest in a cornfield.

Groom Andy Bloomfield died on Sunday in hospital.

The passenger in the front seat, Elizabeth Shelton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The bride, Ruth Driskill Bloomfield and driver Timothy Tebbe are now in hospital in critical condition.

The couple’s friends have set up a fundraising page on GiveForward.com to help with funeral costs.
