One person was killed and two were injured when a Palestinian stabbed a woman in the West Bank, in an attack carried out just hours after an Israeli soldier was stabbed by a Palestinian in Tel Aviv.

The second stabbing resulted in the death of Dalia Lamkus, a 26-year-old resident of the Tekoa settlement. At the time of the attack, she was standing at a popular hitchhiking spot near the Gush Etzion junction.

Surveillance footage shows that an assailant rammed his car into a pavement near a bus stop at the junction, hitting Lamku. He then left the vehicle and stabbed Lamkus multiple times.

The assailant then attacked another man. A third man intervened and the assailant fled. Israeli authorities said the assailant was later wounded after a security guard shot him.

According to Haaretz, the attacker has been identified as Maher Hamdi A-Shalmon, a 30-year-old who had been jailed previously for attacking Israeli troops.
