Cheating death: badass with two broken legs crawls back to safety out of New Mexico ravine
  • 9 years ago
A New Mexico man crawled to safety, three days after falling into a ravine and breaking both of his legs.

Jeffrey Darling, 48, has vision issues, and tripped and fell into the ravine, law enforcement said.

Darling called authorities for help but his cell phone died, leaving law enforcement with little information to track his location.

With no food or water, Darling built a fire to stay warm as temperatures turned frigid.

Three days after his fall, Darling was finally able to crawl to an intersection where he flagged down a passerby, The Daily Times reported.

Darling is currently recovering in an area hospital.
