Not a common phobia: Woman suffers from fear of stickers cured through hypnotherapy

In England, a 19-year-old woman with a rare phobia has been cured thanks to the work of hypnotherapist Peter Field.
How rare? Well, the typical kind of things that people are afraid of are things like cockroaches, rats, spiders, etc.
But meet Jade Marshall, she has a fear of stickers.
Her fear is so rare that Mr. Field had to coin a new phobia: pittakionophobia.
She explains that her phobia of stickers started when she was seven during a sleepover at a friend’s place. The friend had stickers stuck all over the bed frame and Marshall didn’t want to sleep near the old, dirty, peeling stickers so she spent the night on the floor.
At first, most people didn’t believe her, including her family, but as Marshall’s phobia intensified she was unable to go shopping because price tags and size stickers made her anxious. She started struggling at her work in a nursery, because children would bring in stickers to share. The phobia also makes Marshall unable to wrap or unwrap Christmas presents.
But thanks to Peter Field, this will be Jade Marshall’s first Christmas in a long time where she’ll be able to go shopping, wrap presents and unwrap her own presents.
