British Prime Minister David Cameron has pledged to boost living standards after years of austerity, as he bids for a second term in power.
Cameron was speaking at the launch of the Conservative party’s manifesto, ahead of next month’s general election.
He urged voters to stick with his party, saying it would bring economic security and strong leadership.
“We offer a good life for those willing to try because we’re the party of working people,” he said.
“So, if you want a more secure Britain, if you want a brighter future for you, for your family, then, together, let us not go back to square one, let us finish want we’ve begun.”
Cameron says he will make home-buying more of a reality, boost free childcare and cut tax.
The election polls are deadlocked. According to YouGov figures published on Tuesday, Labour was one percentage point ahead, at 34 percent.
But another poll, by TNS, gave the Conservatives a two percentage point lead over Labour.
