Possible terror plot? Mystery tunnel discovered near Pan Am games venue at Rexall Center in Toronto

A mysterious underground tunnel has been discovered along the York University campus in Toronto, Canada. The tunnel was built near a venue that is set to be used during this summer's Pan Am games, and has authorities worried that a possible terror attack was being planned.
No arrests have been made, but investigators are looking into who could have possibly dug the 33-foot-long tunnel, which was located near the Rexall Center Sports and Entertainment Complex.
A worker happened across the tunnel's entrance, which was hidden with a wood plank and covered by dirt, on Jan. 14. The tunnel itself was constructed 10 feet underground, was 6 feet high inside and 3 feet wide. Meanwhile, the mud roof was also supported by 2-foot-by-8-foot wood framing planks and plywood walls, which suggested that those responsible for building it "had some expertise in structural integrity," Deputy Chief Mark Saunders said.
"We're trying to find and establish who built it, why they built it and what were their intentions," Saunders added. "There is nothing to suggest criminality. I don't have a working theory. We're open. We go with the evidence."
A police statement said authorities found gas cans, food and beverage containers, work gloves, a wheelbarrow, as well as moisture-resistant light bulbs, a gas generator and a sump pump to remove ground water.
Rosary beads with a crucifix and a poppy affixed to it was also found hanging from a nail inside the tunnel.
Experts worry the bizarre tunnel could have been built with malicious intent, as it does not lead anywhere and has no apparent purpose for a human or drug trafficker or even a survivalist, the New York Daily News reported.
