ISIS ‘Jihadi Jake’ dead in suicide bombing: Australian teen recruit dies in Iraq suicide mission
  • 9 years ago
The young Australian who joined ISIS and was dubbed "Jihadi Jake" by the media has reportedly died carrying out a suicide bombing in Iraq on March 11.

The scrawny kid from Melbourne is said to have converted to Islam following his mom's death from cancer in 2012. After being bullied in school he is said to have quit school and begun planning to join ISIS.

The young devotee, whose real name was Jake Bilardi, left Australia in August 2014 and allegedly made it to ISIS-controlled territory by December. He is said to have joined ISIS fighters in the Iraqi city of Ramadi, and on March 12 Internet sources with connections to ISIS were praising his 'martyrdom,' which they say involved Jake driving a van packed with explosives on a suicide mission that city.

Bilardi was 18-years-old and lived with his aunt Connie who media say was too devastated by the news to offer a statement.
