High-speed chase: bales of pot hurled at Arizona cops by Mexican drug smugglers during car chase

Dramatic dash-cam footage caught from an Arizona police car Wednesday morning shows suspects trying to lose police by hurling bales of marijuana at their vehicle.

The high speed pursuit, which reached speeds over 100 mph, began when deputies saw a suspicious white Trailblazer traveling eastbound on Interstate-8, according to Pinal County Sheriff's Deputy office.
Officers ran the plate and saw that the vehicle had several traffic violations, so when they wanted to pull the SUV over, the suspects: Mario Perez-Paz and Juan Aguilar-Zavala, took off.
The sheriff's office said 374 pounds of marijuana were recovered as evidence, although not all of the pot was recovered because five vehicles stopped to grab some of the bales of weed and took off before police could pick it up.
Border Patrol and Customs Enforcement officials were able to find the location of the smugglers and marijuana from a stash house in Mesa. Authorities also identified 20 illegal immigrants from Guatemala and Mexico.
Both Paz and Zavala were taken into custody and booked into the Pinal County Sheriff's Jail for possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, transportation of marijuana to sale, conspiracy to transport marijuana for sale and unlawful flight.
