Stupid politicians: City mayor thinks orangutan and tiger escaped, panics whole city

Last week, Lin Zhijian, the mayor of Hsinzhu, in northern Taiwan, posted a comment on Facebook, asking that local citizens help find the zoo’s ‘lost’ orangutan and bengal tiger.
The only problem was that the animals weren’t lost or escaped. The zoo was carrying out repairs on the enclosures normally inhabited by the two animals’ and had temporarily relocated them to other enclosures.
Mayor Lin offered an apology and then threw his press secretary under the bus, saying that he seldomly used his own Facebook as his press secretary managed it for him.
Some netizens said that it was a low blow that he’d blame his press secretary. Another netizen speculated that perhaps the idiot mayor had forgotten to pay his employees and it was an act of revenge.
Perhaps the mayor can spend some time looking for his brain before galavanting after escaped zoo animals.
