MEDIA SALON DE SEMA
The Seoul Museum of Art held the new exhibition "Media Salon de SeMA" to share the artworks it collected throughout the year with the public. This exhibition also aims of presenting the current flow of art with some 13 video new media pieces created by artists Han Jin-su, Park Eun-sun, Kim A-young, Lim Heung-soon and more. Their artworks cover a wide range of topics, ranging from war, ideology and violence to space, identity and the fundamental idea of existence. Artist Han's "Queen of Scarlet" depicts the nature of living organisms that constantly reproduce and disappear, while Park's "Castle" shows the meaning of existence. These artists question how much further can the medium used to transmit information develop, and their various attempts turned into valuable pieces of art, taking the audience to a whole new world of art.

Tum-dedum! The Robot Show!
"Tum- dedum! The Robot Show!" combines robot technology with traditional art. This new, multifarious piece was developed with the hope of strengthening the competitive power of Korean robot technology and also understanding of traditional culture. Comprised of "Royal Ancestral Ritual," "Fan Dance," "Lion Dance" and "Taekwonmoo" with the commentary provided by commentator Mong-geum, this performance of great historical significance shows the essence of traditional Korean culture. The robots' outfits are made by renowned artisans, and these robots dance delicately or powerfully to the music, giving a perfect rendition of traditional Korean dance. This performance lets people experience all the rare, complex performances at once and also arouses people's curiosities about both tradition and technology, and this unusual attempt will definitely put Korean traditional art into the international spotlight.
