Well, on Saturday April 15 I got my first cab ride, in the Coopersville & Marne SW9 #7014, in Coopersville, Michigan.. Pretty good deal, $25 and you get to ride in the cab. Anyway, the engineer let me blow for a few crossings. With the camera on the anemeter, I blew a locomotive horn for the first time. But...... I didn't hold the last long all the way through the crossing. See, by FRA standards, you have to hold the last long until the front of the locomotive clears the pavement. Yes america, I'm an idiot. But to quote the engineer, "Aw, nobody died, so you're fine". The next 2 times I got it right.
