Private contractors dig gold from trash - Tv9 Gujarati

Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) may have prioritized solid waste management and roped in private players for door-to-door and door-to-dump collection of municipal solid waste for enhanced performance. But what if the actual waste collected is much less than what is being shown on paper by the private contractors? That appears to be very much the scene with contractors inflating the quantity of waste collected to mint extra bucks. This startling information was thrown up in an RTI reply. An RTI revealed that the contractors collect construction debris to increase the weight of the waste and get more money.
