Colombia: Santos rejects Uribe call to prolong peace talks

Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos rejected a suggestion by his predecessor Alvaro Uribe that the peace talks currently underway with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) rebels be extended. Santos said it was illogical that if a peace agreement can be reached soon why talks should be prolonged and he defended the way in which negotiations have been conducted with the rebels. teleSUR
