SECOND SATURDAY: SACRAMENTO: 3/14/2015
Deanna Jaxine Stinson and I, on this day went to Second Saturday in downtown Sacramento, before we went though, let me tell you about our day in whole. We took Hi-Pee and Princess Hannah to Pinkerton Park for their morning walk. The day is going to be hot, in the 80s, so the dogs can't tag around with us in the car like they usually do. After we dropped the dogs at home, we ate at Jimboys, with a stopover at Jamba Juice. Now it was off on I-5, headed downtown Sacramento, parked the car on 18th and K and now it was time to explore Second Saturday! One stop we made we came across a young brash artist. Instead of taking the time to be interviewed for this story, he came across as brazen, cocky and egotistical. He asked for an interview at a later time for $25.00, but his business card will hit my trash can instead. Here is an artist who doesn't understand 'free advertising'. He had no customers and could have taken the time for a quick 5 minute interview and didn't take it. Some of the places we stopped at were: Zanzibar Fair Trade - bringing world imports, jewelry and other type of gifts to Sacramento. You can find this business at 1731 L Street, Sacramento or Zanzibar-Trading.com or contact them directly at 916 443-5601. If you like rare books or hard-to-get books, go ahead and stop at: Time Tested Books - 1114 21st Street, Sacramento - 916 447-5696 - www.timetestedbooks.com

At Zanzibar Trading Co, Deanna picked up Optical Calcite. This crystal can help a person see past errors and ways to correct them for benefit in the future. It can bring out higher Chakras and encourages spiritual development. The other stone Deanna picked up was Amethyst - believed by the ancient cultures to prevent overindulgence and intoxication. This is a purple variety of quartz crystal. This is a great place for metaphysical class of people, check out www.ZanzibarTrading.com After leaving this place, we made a quick stop at The Porch Restaurant and Bar, then we sat outside of Starbucks and enjoyed our light green tea frappachino and enjoyed each others' company and conversation.

One of the stops that we really enjoyed was the MidiKat Boutique. The store clerk was Nicole Angelin. She tells me that she enjoys Second Saturday, when it gets darker, more people show up. During Second Saturday, they have karaoke. She brags about the store and how cheap the outfits were. Deanna found a cute glitter bronze mini skirt for $3.00 and a nice bronze ankh necklace for $4.00. Nicole was a delight to do business with and it was enjoyable for Deanna to shop around this store, in fact Deanna is going back later for more! After a day at Second Saturday Downtown, it was back to Jimboys (as you can tell we love Jimboys) and then we took the dogs out for their 2nd walk, this time at Zimbleman Park. One more stop at Redbox for the movie St. Vincent and at Redbox - CVS Pharmacy we ran into Albert Cobian. Albert must be stalking us, because last night at OSH, Deanna and I ran into Albert and his wife Jaime. Awwww.............a nice fulfilling Saturday comes to an end.
