Mortgage lending soars in February on low key rate

Mortgage loans extended by local banks here in Korea went up significantly last month... on the back of a low key rate and robust home transactions.
The Bank of Korea says... mortgage lending jumped over 3-and-a-half billion U.S. dollars in February from a month ago.
That's more than three times larger than the average growth posted in the month of February during the years from 2008 to 2014.
Household lending, including mortgage loans,... reached roughly 5-hundred billion dollars last month,... up around 3 billion from January.
