A recent study led Imperial College London has found that people older than 30-years old tend to get the flu twice a decade on average versus kids and adolescents who get it about once every other year.

Adults get the flu much less often than they probably think. 

In fact, a recent study has found that the rates of infection become relatively stable after age 30, occurring only about twice a decade. 

Younger people, on the other hand, get sick with the flu about once every two years on average.
