IKEA To Launch Furniture Embedded With Wireless Phone Chargers

IKEA is set to launch a select group of night stands, lamps, and desks with the Qi-standard of wireless phone charging technology embedded in them; they are expected to be available in European and North American markets in April.

Charging your phone with that corded plug can be a real hassle. 

However, this may no longer be a struggle in the future: IKEA, the world’s largest furniture maker, will soon be selling pieces with wireless charging capabilities built into them. 

These are scheduled to launch in April in North America and Europe and include lamps, desks, bedside tables, and kits for existing furniture.
IKEA representatives state that they are introducing these products because “people hate cable mess,” but they “also worry about not finding the charger and running out of power.” 

The furniture itself will still need to be plugged in to enable the wireless capability.
